What's New on FluenTea — April 2026 Update
A fresh new look, Android app, speaking partner matching, and more
We've been busy brewing up something big! This month brings a complete UX overhaul, our first Android app, and a wave of new features to help you practice more and stress less.
A Fresh New Look
FluenTea got a visual makeover! We've redesigned the entire mobile experience around a hub-based navigation — Home, CommuniTea, Learn, and Profile each have their own dedicated space. The design is warmer, cleaner, and easier to navigate, with a new sage-green color palette, rounded cards, and our beloved teababe illustrations throughout. Desktop got the same treatment with a reorganized dashboard and the return of ChaCha's signature speech bubble.
FluenTea on Android
We're excited to announce that FluenTea is now available as an Android app! It's currently in testing, and we'd love early feedback. The app gives you push notifications for your daily Word of the Day, upcoming calls, and new messages — so you never miss a chance to practice. Stay tuned for the public launch on Google Play!
Find Your Speaking Partner
Our new matching feature helps you find the perfect language exchange partner or tutor. Tell us when you're free, pick whether you want a casual partner or a tutor, and we'll find people who match your schedule and learning goals. Select a time slot, choose which language to practice, add a personal note, and send a request — the other person confirms, and you're all set!
Your Calendar, All in One Place
Keep track of all your upcoming sessions — tutor lessons, partner calls, voice rooms, and quick calls with friends — right from your dashboard. The new calendar card shows everything at a glance, and a banner pops up when a call is coming soon so you never miss a session.
Community Channels
Join topic-based discussion channels to practice writing and connect with fellow learners. When you sign up, you're automatically added to the Feedback channel, Introductions, and channels for your native and target languages. Click any channel to jump straight into the conversation.
Quick Calls with Friends
Want to practice with someone you know? Create a quick call link, share it, and start talking — no signup required for your friend. After the call, they'll see a summary and can sign up to keep going.
Blog in Your Language
All our blog posts are now automatically translated into German, French, Spanish, and Chinese. Look for the toggle at the top of each post to switch between the original and translated version.
For Tutors
Tutors get a dedicated Teach tab on mobile, a reorganized desktop dashboard with profile toggle, booking requests, and teaching feedback all in the right place. The AI-powered teaching feedback dashboard is now fully mobile-friendly, so you can review insights about your lessons on the go.
