Though she wasn't taught Spanish as a child, she has spent her adult life learning to better connect with her family and roots. Angie has a background in design and fashion, and spent over 13 years at Amazon leading global teams in AI, creative technology, and inclusion before co-founding FluenTea. She believes that language is as much about belonging as it is about words and brings this vision to FluenTea, where people's real smiles will be the motivation to keep learning.

đź”— Connect on LinkedInBorn in China and raised in Canada, Nancy learned early what it is like to learn a new language through immersion, arriving at age nine knowing only "hello." She earned her PhD in computer science from the University of Washington and went on to work as an AI scientist at IBM Research in the U.S. and Amazon in Berlin. Her life across cultures and language learning frustrations inspired her mission to make language learning feel less like studying, and more like connecting.
Language Advisor
Born and raised in Austria, Silke has always been fascinated by languages and the stories they carry. She holds master's degrees in French and Cultural Studies, as well as in Russian, and has dedicated her career to teaching German as a foreign language. She currently works with refugees from Ukraine—both children and adults—helping them find confidence and connection through language. Alongside this work, she serves as a Language Advisor at FluenTea, where she combines her love of cultures with her compassionate approach to learning, building trust and understanding with every student she meets.
Marketing Manager
Born and raised in Western Canada, Kathleen has always loved bringing people together and finding creative ways to make others smile. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in 2025 and has built a diverse career in the trades as a ticketed electrician and parts technician in Alberta before joining our team. Her mix of technical skill and heart for connection drew her to FluenTea, where she now leads marketing with a focus on building community and sharing the joy of learning through culture and conversation.
